CMS for Big Sites and Little Sites Tobacco Root Graffics designs websites using content management systems. We use Joomla! for large websites that require excellent programming flexibility and a wide variety of user interface systems (e.g., business directories, photo galleries, calendars, highly customized on-line stores, catalogs, etc.) We also design systems using popular DIY (do-it-yourself) content managers which are very cost effective when our clients want a small website and don't want to do it themselves. To date, we've worked with the Homestead and DIYeStores. So far, we haven't met a DIY system that we didn't like.
What Do You Like?
We generally start a new website design project by asking the client to do a little web surfing, particularly on websites in their industry, and to make some notes regarding what they do and don't like about certain websites. Strong emotional reactions tell us a lot about a client's preferences and can save all of us time.
Color, Layout and User Interaction Create Sensations
We believe that its very important to consider how a website makes a visitor feel. Have you ever visited a cool, slick website that left you feeling creepy, or a little down? How about a website that intends to be "neutral" but just makes you feel like cold oatmeal?
Our objective is to create a website that reflects the client's preferences and vision while leaving visitors with a good feeling about their experience. Working Out the Outline After we've determined some color, layout and interaction parameters, we'll talk about what information will be provided, how it will be organized and how it will be displayed. From that, we can develop an outline for your website and, from the outline, we can create a quote for your project. Then we get to work! |
