Does Your Business Look Trustworthy On-Line?

Mary Ellen Slayter has collected an excellent checklist for on-line business credibility.  Please consider the following from her article, "Does Your Business Look Trustworthy On-Line?"

"Moreover, researchers have found that 50 milliseconds is the average amount of time it takes a Web user to judge a website’s visual design. That means it doesn’t matter how strong your content is — if your website looks shady, most people aren’t going to stick around long enough to read even one word of it."

    You want a site that's well organized.  Visitors can easily find what they want.  Color schemes and styles are in sync with your message.  The pages have a standard format with intriguing graphics or user interactions.  Your visitor doesn't arrive at the page and think, "I have to read all that to get what I need?" Your visitors should never produce a "Page Not Found" or find that they have inadvertently left your website.
